Why Volunteer?

The picture above shows John Humphrey, first conservation-easement donor to CMLC and longtime volunteer.  John has been with us through thick and thin- when CMLC was attempting to protect the 1,568 acre World's Edge tract from development- John put up his own farm and his assets as loan collateral.  Through the years John's dedication has continued- 12 years on the board (including two terms as president!) and he shows no sign of letting up yet.  John showcases the support that dedicated and passionate volunteers have donated to CMLC, support the organization could not do without.

Of course, not everyone needs to put up their home as loan collateral to help out!  CMLC needs help in countless areas- invasive species removal, trail building, board support, special events, and so much more!  All of these different areas support the work that CMLC does protecting our beautiful mountains, landscape, and way of life.  So please consider lending a hand to make continued conservation a reality!
