First of all, we would like to thank you all for the time and effort you have contributed to CMLC and remind you of how important your role is to the operation of this organization. Staff would like to express their extreme gratitude for the support of volunteers who make their work both possible—and enjoyable– through their generous contributions, and we hope to see you all at the annual Volunteer Soirée on April 4^th at the Hickory Nut Inn.

 

Secondly, I would like to remind you all of just how important volunteers are to the non-profit world as a whole. Research by the Independent Sector has placed the value of volunteer time at $19.51 per hour for 2007, and these hours are an important element in consideration for grant awarding from private and public funders. Volunteer hours also allow for CMLC to achieve internal performance measures, which insure efficient utilization of staff time and other resources available to the organization.    

 

With that in mind, we need to make certain board, committee, and other volunteers are accurately recording hours and getting this information to CMLC in a timely fashion. We have included a copy of our volunteer time log along with this message, and urge everyone to make sure that they keep precise records of the time and millage they donate to CMLC.

 

If you have any questions, please let us know, and if you would like to take a hands on role in the volunteer tracking program we always welcome volunteers who could lend an hour or two in the office assisting in the entry of this data.
