VERSION 2.0 IS HERE - TAKE THE CHALLENGE!
Last year, Hiking Challengers took more than 800 hikes on CMLC conserved lands and raised more than $7,500 for land conservation! The CMLC Hiking Challenge is back with Version 2.0: a whole new lineup of eight hikes on even more of our most spectacular conserved lands. Earn the famous White Squirrel Hiking Patch and support CMLC's mission to protect more places to revel in the beauty of our Blue Ridge Mountains. Hiking Challenge 2.0 will take you to exciting new destinations and familiar favorites. In this year's Challenge:
Visit a secluded waterfall in the heart of East Fork Headwaters tract
Have your breath taken away when you stand at Worlds Edge
Gaze upon the best view in the Blue Ridge atop Bearwallow Mountain
Learn about rivercane and stormwater wetlands at the Cane Creek Greenway
Feel like you're in the movie Hunger Games at DuPont SRF's Bridal Veil Falls
and many more amazing hiking destinations protected by CMLC!

CMLC Hiking Challenge encourages outdoor enthusiasts—and anyone interested in keeping western North Carolina’s mountains beautiful—to explore and discover for themselves the lands that Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy has helped preserve. Get out and experience our conserved lands up close and personal! See what we protect, where we protect it, and why we protect it.
By completing eight hikes among our most spectacular conserved locales, see where you have helped us protect the most amazing areas of our southern Appalachian mountains.
Completers of the eight hikes will earn our famous white squirrel-themed embroidered hiking patch, a certificate of completion, recognition in our online and print publications, and a $10 gift certificate for hiking gear at Hendersonville's Mast General Store!
